To Ship Owners, Operators, Masters, Shipping Companies, Ship Managers, Manning Agents, Seafarers and General Public;

The international convention on standard of training certification and watchkeeping for seafarers 78 as amended (STCW ‘78 as Amended) and the Merchant shipping Act (MSA) 2007 aim to promote safety of life and property at sea and Protection of the Marine Environment by establishing international standards of training examination and certification for seafarers. Pursuant to the above, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and safety Agency (NIMASA) is committed to Maintaining the highest standard of seafarer training Examination and certification and will take action as necessary to ensure that this commitment is met. As part of measures geared towards sustaining the minimum standards required for the development of seafarers in Nigeria; Notice is hereby given on accredited Maritime training institutions as follows;
