There has been an attempted sea robbery in Nigerian waters. Officials of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA at the C4i center monitoring the situation on Tuesday 21st April 2025 noted an illegal boarding of a Marshall Islands-flagged chemical tanker “Sea Panther” southwest of Brass, Nigeria.

This is the first of such attempted sea robbery in Nigerian waters since 2021.

Four individuals boarded the vessel and made away with some personal items of crew members.

All crew members are safe and MT Sea Panther has since sailed off Nigerian waters safely.
